Congratulations to Nigel Lamb and Sarah Chick on their performance in the Gold Cup.
Nigel overcame Steven Bonnett from Cumbria (4-2), Lloyd Browning from Glamorgan (4-1) and James Richardson from Leicestershire (4-2) before losing in the quarter final to Alan Bell from Lancashire (0-4).
Sarah beat both Jo Locke from Suffolk (4-0) and Sue Shepherd from Cornwall (4-2) in the earlier rounds. In the quarter final she found herself 0-2 down against Lakeside 2015 qualifier Sarah Brent from Nottingham but managed to up her game to win the match 4-3. This set up a semi-final match on the stage against World No 2 and England captain Deta Hedman. Sarah produced her best game of the day defeating Deta 4-0 with a 26.03 Ave.
In the final she played World No 1 Fallon Sherrock, Sarah scored convincingly but missed doubles saw her lose 0-4 to finish runner up in the Ladies tournament.
Dorset's Gold Cup Qualifiers were held on 3rd May at Branksome Conservative Club.

They will represent Dorset in the finals on 4th July at Lakeside.
Congratulations to youth players Daniel Perry, Katie Mitchell and Felicia Blay who will be at Lakeside on 5th July having qualified for the finals of the youth competitions.
We also have 3 further qualifiers for the England National Singles event, they are Ryan Gowans, Mark Sheen and Lin Bellingham. They will join our other qualifers: John Clark, Matthew Yarrow, James Lane and Suzy Trickett at Bunn Leisure in Selsey on Friday 19th June.
